This season, MOCA Makers welcomes participants to delve into how memory, material, and meaning endure through artistic expression. Archives as Practice reimagines MOCA’s well-loved monthly workshops as a focused series exploring archival methods.

Join us for the second workshop in this series Adornment as Archive with Ọmọlará Williams McCallister. A Millinery workshop where McCallister will guide us through discussions on how adornment, decoration, embellishment, and fashion, serve as archive. Then we will create our own hand-crafted designs.    

This series is curated in collaboration with Nadege Green, founder of Black Miami-Dade, a history and creative studio dedicated to honoring Miami’s Black past. Memory work is expansive and essential, reminding us that archives are not only found in boxes or institutions but live within us and the communities we create.
